Excatly, I'd rather take Katy who has a consistent mediocre voice live, but kills it in the studio, than take GaGa, who sometimes sounds amazing, but sometimes sounds like a dying bird. Also, GaGa doesn't have a great studio voice. What more needs to be said.
It's not like there's a huge difference, I just think Katy has a slight edge because she's more consistent. I feel like Katy knows her vocal boundaries more than GaGa does, and that's essential in being a good vocalist.
