When you become a celebrity, your life is no longer a private affair. I don't necessarily like that myself, but it's the truth. The paparazzi have made it so that everyone who becomes even moderately famous will have every detail of their life chronicled. Even a trip to the store to buy groceries becomes important when a celebrity is the one making that trip.
What's the point of all of this, you may be asking? Well, Rihanna's life is not a private affair. By being a celebrity, you are subconsciously allowing your life to become as public and as scrutinized as possible. Her life and the events that occur in her life are made known to all of us, making us feel as if we are all a part of her lives, just as it would be with just about any other celebrity. It's not the same thing as actually knowing the person, but we FEEL like we know that person. Because of this, a lot of us were affected when Chris Brown beat up Rihanna, because we feel as if we have an open door into Rihanna's life (and Chris Brown's life as well), and a lot of us were outraged with Chris Brown's actions.
I get what you're trying to say and I understand what you're trying to argue. It's just that celebrities have privacy taken away from them when they become famous, and, because of this, their lives become a part of our lives. We may not actually be the participants involved, sure, but we feel close to celebrities because of what we know about them, even if we're really not. It shouldn't have affected us when Chris Brown beat up Rihanna...but it did.

And THIS is the problem.
Nobody is saying what he did was right or giving him a pass. I do think he deserves a second chance tho.
But what you're saying is that there is NOTHING he can do to change your opinion. OK. Then why say it over and over again? Why post those pictures? If people want to forgive Chris and continue to support him then let it be. He's gonna live his life regardless. To dwell and keep reiterating the OBVIOUS is a bit much.

Why say it over and over again? Because so many people try to either pretend that the incident didn't happen or try to forget that it ever happened. I don't like dwelling on the subject myself, but it's better than forgetting it ever happened.
