I don't have anything against lip-syncing, for me it does not make anyone better than anyone. Pop music's biggest legends, Britney, Michael and Madonna always lipped and they didn't stop being considered legends because of that. At least they entertain the crowd in a level that none of those that don't use it do.
Lady Gaga can say what she wants about lip-syncing but she uses it a lot of times and even when she doesn't her back-vocals are always so loud that she tries to hide it, although I like her I find her a little hypocrite due to that, but anyway! Even GREAT VOICES as Mariah, Shakira or Christina Aguilera lip-sync, so I stopped caring.
The only way I would care about lip-sync is if an artist just stans there doing nothing, that's why I got a little pissed at Britney's "Till The World Ends" live @ BBAwards! But I got over it and I'm all for lip-sync, as I said, from my point of view doesn't make anyone better than anyone.

Oh by the way, I find it FIERCE
Madonna sings 95% of her shows live. She's not Michael Jackson or britney. I can't with your lies.
I used to be okay with lip-syching (I was a Britney stan) but then I saw P!nk perform and now I think no one has any excuse to lip. I don't know how P!nk does it, but her vocals are strong, whether she's spinning at a high speed or dancing (she dances too; check out her CRAZY Funhouse choreography on the Live in Australia DVD).
Lip synching comes across as lazy. And when you lip you're nothing more than a background dancer.
If you're giving me a show, I don't mind. I know it's shallow but I feel like people claim "if you wanted to lip sync then I'd listen to the radio" but I go to a concert to see a show since I hear them on the radio all the time, I'd rather go see someone like Britney Spears (of course) or say Madonna then Adele or Mariah Carey, because they give me a visual and that visual slays.. and if that means lip syncing, if they're dancing/their show is pleasing to the eye, then I'll be just fine.
I've been to the Circus tour and the Femme Fatale tour, and the shows are so amazing you forget that Britney's lipsyncing because you're wrapped in the whole ambiance of the show, and the theme and etc.
Lipsycning is stupid as hell. I mean... if you go into the business as a SINGER. Then do your JOB.
Look, if you're dancing, at least put SOME effort into it. Sing a few lines and dance. **** outta here with that fake ****.
Sometimes the singer just can't do otherwise. Maybe the notes are too high and singing them every night on a 60 dates must be difficult or the choreography is just too difficult.
However it becomes problematic when the singer doesn't even care and does it everytime even when there is nothing complicated going on.
Lip-syncing really bugs me! I have less respect for Britney because of it. And she doesn't even try to sing, even when she's not dancing! And I don't care as much about dancing, you're a ****ing singer not a dancer!

to everything.
I cant at some of these comments, i understand with being upset with someone lip syncing say a ballad but these comments 'your'e a singer not a dancer' are just stupid IMO. Not everyone wants to watch someone JUST sing or dance their asses off while sounding like ****. I'd LOVE to see people's faves do the MATM and/or slave routine while holding a note. Gaga's ass was struggling in the vocal department when she tried to dance and performed judas on snl and she's a great vocalist so just imagine britney dancing AND singing live at the same time, sometimes people SHOULD lipsync.
Also, DEAD at 'i have more respect for katy perry than britney' and that katy stan, when katy has sounded like **** when she's barely moving. It would pay her to lip sync sometimes.
I'd say lip-syncing is fine. I mean, I really don't know any artist than can sing AND dance at the same time. It's okay if you sound bad while dancing at the same time, I just want to see them try. About Gaga and Beyonce, well....they just happened to be talented. You can't beg your faves to stop lip-syncing if that's the best they can do, maybe they really can't sing...and you can't blame them for that. However, if they CAN sing and they just don't try....

Lady Gaga Does NOT lip-sync, y'hear?
Anyways, she doesn't drown her voice in the back-track as you say. She only plays the back-track when she dances, and she's no hypocrite either, because she kept her word when she says "I NEVER HAVE, I NEVER WILL."

P!nk does a lot when performing and her pitch is still perfect.
Sometimes I actually ask myself what does a singer means? I would respect a singer if he/she sing so awfully rather than a singer who lip-sync all the time. Personally for me i think it's very disgraceful if you even call yourself a singer.

Pink is frigging flawless. Has anyone saw the grammy performance of glitter in the air!? She is literally stuck On air hanging by a thread!! She didn't lip sync and she sounded perfect. That is call true talent!
