I know most of the people here stan for Britney, Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry, but they are not music legends. They are not recognized or respected because of their voices, their abilities to write songs. They are big icons in terms of the pop industry, giving entertaining performances and great visuals.

But only talented artists are considered legends.

Irrelevant. For the most part she's still considered a pop legend for her immense impact on pop culture and pop music. Her impact is bigger than all the pop girls of this generation and she's outsold them all. Madonna wasn't and still isn't known for her vocals or dancing but more so her controversy and what she's done for pop music. Britney has iconic songs, performances, images, etc.

Any way. I was going to vote for Gaga but she's not on the list.

She surely is.
Her talent is amazing and personally I am just waiting for her to show the world what she really is capable to 'cause she still hasn't. Linda Perry has always said that.
She has an amazing versatile raspy voice and she can sing better than any other girl out there in the biz right now, no matter what. So yes, she'll be recognized as a legend one day.

I think Alicia could be one as well. For some reason, many veterans and today's artists respect her. I think they respect an instrumentalist who writes. She may be viewed in the same light as Sade (Adu doesn't play an instrument, but her band does), or in to a lessor extent, Roberta Flack or Stevie Wonder.

I don't see britney becoming one unless she STEPS IT UP. This 'i have nothing to prove' **** she has in her head needs to go away. A 'legend' doesn't go on stage like she did during the FF era promo performances and the Billboard music awards sorry to say. She will remain an icon if she doesn't step up her game.

But you do know that Madge is way more respected for her music and songwriting than Britney is (or ever will be).

I really don't like this Madonna mention. Madonna may not be respected for her voice or dancing, but her catalog is one of the most respected EVER. She is an ARTIST, and her being in the industry for 30 years proves her legendary status. Britney's impact makes her an icon, but I just can't see where she is close to being a legend. Sry.

There are a couple on that list that has had the impact, but the level of respect is minimal. That's why they will remain iconic but won't ever become legendary.

Britney is far, far more respected than Christina.
