Why would they release it the 21st when she's going to perform at the Grammy's on the 12th? Seems like a waste of promo to make people wait over a week.
Anyways, I feel like this song will perform around the same level or a little below Teenage Dream. A couple weeks at #1 at best with 3 million + sales. I can't see it smashing ala Firework.
I think amazon is usually later. And hun... It's joining Katy's 5 million club.
I'm not getting the appeal. Dressin' Up is much better.
People who don't follow Katy / pop music news won't know it leaked a long time ago. So they'll assume it was written after her divorce and directed towards Russel. That's part of its mass appeal, and why it was a better choice than Dressin' Up.

Hmmm... Even though I like Dressin' Up much better I have to agree. They'll assume that it was about Russell and eat it up. Great promo imo.
The song is nice. It's in the vein of TOTGA but better. But I use the world "nice" b/c this sound is a little bland and expected from Katy at this point. I was hoping for something really fresh, unique and innovative for her next release, like ET X 10. It sounds like early Kelly Clarkson/Dr Luke work. I feel like at best, this is just another notch in her #1s belt. Not really memorable, but not bad. I still need to hear the final version.

it actually does sound like a Kelly Clarkson production!
but who cares?
the song is great and it's going to be heer 7th number one!
Only issue I foresee with POM is that it's thematically very similar to Kelly Clarkson's Stronger.
Radio might not eat it up because of it. Though most people will assume this is about Russell Brand, so maybe it'll get a major push Week 1, enough to top Billboard?
this is Katy Perry. she's the radio queen.
"California Gurls" was "Tik Tok" and look at that.
