Katy Perry rivaled the watery grace of Ariel when she transformed into a mermaid for her new ad campaign for ghd hair straighteners. Shot by renowned photographer David LaChapelle, the ad (seen above) spotlights Perry's gorgeous lavender locks.
"David La Chapelle made the set amazing," she told Marie Claire. "It was fun -- I got to have purple hair which foreshadowed the real purple hair I had last fall. It's as if Lisa Frank had done 'The Little Mermaid.'" The "Firework" singer also admitted that she was "such a fan of the Disney movies," and is considering keeping the mermaid costume as an option for next Halloween.
