But the line between both is so blurry that you have no choice but to judge on a case-by-case basis, whereas saying something like "tough it out for 5 years and that loser will be cleaning bathrooms at McDonald's" is far more feasible. Sure, you should teach kids that it's stupid to bully but you can never eradicate it completely.

Another person who doesn't understand free speech, you can get in trouble for hurling racist abuse at someone in public does this conflict with free speech? no, because it's harassment and disturbing the peace. Alot of bullying could come under harassment and assault it's just rarely taken so seriously.

Is is really that bad now? I remember there were gay kids at my school and they were not being bullied. I feel bad for the kid, but sucide is just not the answer period.

I heard that anti-bullying laws are put into place now, starting in a New York. This chick committed sucide by jumping in front of a city bus in NYC because of bullying. This particular law also effects cyber bullying. If you leave a nasty or a threatening comment someone's Facebook page or YouTube page, you can be charged and go to jail if this law passes. Something definitely needs to be done.

Why do people bully people for being different?
They're just afraid of someone who's different and that's not fair.

I get bullied for being bisexual. I get people wanting me to go kill myself, and they hope i'll get burned alive.
I don't understand why people get a thrill out of bullying. It's not nice at all, it's absolutely disgusting.

I understand that the majority of the people that make up this forum are gay, but it bugs me how some people only show concern when has to do with a gay person, or if one of their fellow monsters, katy kats, etc, etc go through some kind of unfortunate event. My heart goes out to 'em but it's sad that what I say is the truth

A bigoted crime (in this case the bullying) is always seen as worse. For example race killings, gay bashing etc. etc.

Ever since Popstars & Celebs hopped on the "It gets Better" campaign the media has pushed gay suicide to the forefront. I know its a problem but people act as if non gays aren't taking part in this, and then multiple a day at that. The media is making it seem like gays are just weak minded, emotional beings who choose death as a way to escape their problems. Even as a bisexual man seeing all these gay suicide reports is really getting annoying.

It's about time all schools talk about homosexuals killing themselves because of bullying. How come most schools only converse about races, nationalities, and genders getting bullied, but not the gays? That's exactly what my school does. Thankfully, I haven't heard a story about a gay being bullied yet.

It's interesting how all of the LGBT-suicide stories in the news are about guys... Do lesbians not commit suicide at such a high rate? Or is the media overlooking lesbian girls that kill themselves in order to further sensationalize gay male suicide?

I'm starting to think articles like these aren't really helping the LGBT community because they make yall seem like emotionally unstable kids who need special treatment.
