I think her label is experimenting with this. They want to see if an album truly benefits more from being out while the first single gains popularity (most likely), rather than having a first single be dying / having peaked well before the album release (i.e. Tha Carter IV, Femme Fatale, Teenage Dream, Born This Way)
There is nothing wrong with the video, though. I'm assuming she just got someone's fans upset so they attacked or something. The like/dislike ratio is too big for it to just be that "a lot of people dislike it.".
