I think her label is experimenting with this. They want to see if an album truly benefits more from being out while the first single gains popularity (most likely), rather than having a first single be dying / having peaked well before the album release (i.e. Tha Carter IV, Femme Fatale, Teenage Dream, Born This Way)

I thought this tweet confirmed that she would be performing new tracks (particularly Va va voom).

Seriously, if her album is coming out the next day why wouldn't she perform a song that will be released to radio 2/14.

Album had to be pushed back if Va Va Voom is impacting radio the day it's suppose to be released.
