I love the whole album but they are trying to keep her very tween friendly when she obviously wants a more mature direction, it pisses me off.

I agree with some of this, although the song Speak Now is more of a Love Story 2.0 than Mine is... You can almost sing the chorus of Love Story in place of the chorus of Speak Now; it's probably the most blatant attempt to "recreate" a song out of Taylor's entire discography.

In semi-related news, I'm fairly certain Ours will be top 10 on country charts within the next week.

speak now was arguably the best written album of all time..!! it had so much potential but i think it all started with the wrong lead single choice..!!! mine is great but not for a lead single!!!
had sparks fly been the lead....it would have been insanely successful..!!! then enchanted should have been released...clearly it was a public favourite and it could have rode on the success of sparks fly and been her biggest hit to date......!!!
they even wasted the potential of haunted.....it would have been so good to listen on radio and with little promotion it could be massive.......back to december was the only great single choice they made...but shouldn't have been the second single,...!!!!
if her 4th album's lead single becomes a smash hit then she could have a massively successful next era...!!! i just am so worried that she might screw up the singles of next album too...!! i so dont want that to happen..!!!!!

p.s. bottom line... sparks fly and enchanted..... MAJOR opportunities wasted...!!!

I actually think that they should have released Innocent as the second single; it was the second best-seller opening week because everyone remembered it from the VMAs the previous month.

I would have released Sparks Fly instead of Mine, Innocent instead of Back To December, Better Than Revenge instead of Story of Us, Enchanted instead of Sparks Fly, Back To December instead of Ours, and then added Speak Now as the final single.

I also would've done Long Live with the tour video at some point after the fourth single so that all the singles could have proper music videos.

With it needing a gain of 6-8 million airplay from where it is now I have my doubts. Last week it only gained 3.5 million if I remember correctly but it should get there very soon yes

Edit I actually think its possible for it to be top 10 next week after thinking about it a little more. If it gains like its been gaining day after day it should be very close to Toby Keith by the end of this week

I wouldve had Spark Fly been the lead single, with no leak! I think it couldve been her forst #1 on BB hot 100. Then Enchanted as the second. Its such a pretty wintery song, I think it wouldve done amazing. Then Better than Revenge in the spring. That song wouldve smashed hard! Then Haunted just in time for the fall, with a creepy, scary video!
Then lastly, Long Live, with the tour video they must do And if theres anymore they couldve done Ours after that.

Speak Now's sales should greatly increase following the Grammys performance, and if she performs at the ACMs later this spring, it's another big increase.

I've been thinking lately though... Most artists seem to get album certifications for their shipments, but Taylor only seems to get them for her actual sales...

OR, they want to hold her for now, so she'll peak higher in the future. (Maybe it will sound a little delusional) but I think her label want her to have a career like The Beatles or Bob Dylan. If it's true, that God bless BMR & Taylor's camp.
