When i did my one and only flop attempt, I think I did something like "fierce female lead singles." I posted a list of like 30 songs that fit the criteria, then let voting take place over a week. Then I tabulated the results and posted the list. Then week 2 started, and so on. It's actually a lot of fun.
Or you can be super cool and just post your own personal list.

Well, that's for request countdowns.
Personal countdowns are just your own countdowns, top 10.. top 20.. whatever amount you want to do.

See above. I thought I added that in the first post, then I added it in the second.

So how do personal countdowns work then? You put whatever songs you want at whatever chart position?

Basically. That's why I push the request ones, as they're way more fun.

You just simply say what you do.
You can do it everyday, weekly.. whenever you want.
You have all control over it rather than it being a public vote like the request countdowns.
Just put down a song for each place and make it look cute.
Also a note that Request countdowns are very unpopular in the section. Most people just do their own thing.

Oh. Okay.

Oh. If I made a personal countdown, it would probably end up being a list of my favorite Beyoncé and Mariah songs. Sounds interesting though. I should check that section out more.
Thanks, both of you!

You should try to make it all recent singles, like most do.
But yes, definitely look in it.
Both YTT and Games are such underrated sections, I hate it.
But both provide such fun entertainment, creativity, and just overall fun.

There are two kinds of countdowns: personal and requested.
Imagine requested countdowns are like survivors, where the least voted songs get replaced while the highest voted ones receive the first positions.

Yep. It's basically "your countdown, your decision." That phrase would fit the definition of a personal c/d very well.

I didn't think my question would spawn so much conversation! Thanks everyone!
To clarify, in a personal countdown, I could just say "these are the 10 songs I listened to most this week" and make it look nice and that's all I have to do?

Yep! Personal countdowns work just like the Best Of section does. You pick a category, state your list, and others comment on it.

Have ya'll considered automatic image resizing? Like resizing them to fit within the forum layout without a picture being cut off?

+1. I mean, you can resize your images using [imgzoom] tags, but a lot of forums do have automated image resizing.

Hmm, c'est étrange.
I searched your name, and I got the database error. I searched 'Katie' and 'Remember', and got results. How weird.

Sounds like a conspiracy (which is unlikely since I'm not really relevant to the forum)
Mods and or Administrator , is this fixable?

Tomorrow ATRL Will join the SOPA Blackout protest, during the entire day you will notice a black censor bar across the site. I urge everyone to contact your representative and tell them to vote "NO" on SOPA!
|
So this means that the site won't be closed?
And what is the censor bar going to be over/do?

We should all get a 1 day extension on Best of 2011 if we're not going to be able to post tomorrow.

We should get it to the 31st.
Others want an extension as well but nobody has noticed our begs and pleads.

Hey.
January 31st is my favorite day of the year.
I think we should extend it until then.
