Singles/Songs/Hits is usually what artists are remembered for
Most people don't give a damn/don't know which albums they even came from unless they are fans of that artist.
Hit songs are more important than hit albums for that reason.

But you won't be remembered if people don't take you seriously enough to spend money on your album.
Of course albums. Albums are what make the singles, and are easier to obtain (albums are sold almost everywhere, singles are hard to find in some places), but singles are also important since they're like the album's "helpers" and promote them.

Adele is probably laughing somewhere.
Arent you a Britney stans? cause they are known for playing the 30 millions card at any occasion
A majority of the general public only know an artist for their singles though. I know this, because I am aware of people who have this outlook on music these days. The average music consumer will obtain what is popular, what they see on TV, or what they hear on radio. Do you think the average Joe knows whether 'We Found Love' came from 'Loud' or 'Talk That Talk' - No, they have no idea. They are only aware of what is in front of them. This is a generalization, but I think it's an accurate one. People know artists for their singles. A real music fan will know an artist for their albums.
Having high single sales is always good, but in my opinion, selling more albums than singles is better. Because when someone downloads a single, they usually only like one or two of the artist's songs, rather than liking their whole album.
Albums obviously. If a single is the only good thing about an album, then that's clearly not a good thing. If a single is the only thing about an album that the public cares about, then it's not a good thing, either. It's a no-brainer on this one.
l got it but how can you have a successfull album if none of the songs from this album is known.it's impossible !!
Well I'm sure other Beyonce stans view 4 as a success since it recently scanned a million copies in the U.S. even though the singles haven't made any impact
