It was trendy and cute, but not nearly iconic. No one sees a bob and immediately thinks "Rihanna". She was just one of many to rock that style.

Rihanna was doing electro-pop before Gaga came around, and once Gaga had stepped onto the scene, Rihanna changed her sound to be more urban.
