It really doesn't take that long to know a person. I could ask the same question about Britney when she was on her second album. Of course people are going to know more about Brit or Bey since they have been around for so long.

I think that the general public connects more to Britney than they do Gaga. Gaga became so popular so quickly because of how "out-of-nowhere" and strange she was when she debuted.

People knew more about Britney and Bey on their second albums. They knew a lot more. I'm saying sales don't mean anything about how much you know about an artist.

Britney - one of the main reasons being how long Britney's been around and the sort of bond she made with the general public through the media. Her very public downward spiral back in 07' which the media amplified plays a big part imo in the general public connecting with her more, I guess the public may feel they've travelled with Britney through her peak and her troughs which makes them feel closer to her in a way? Also she has this less glamorous image and a more girl next door image which also plays a part.

Adele isn't a media artist. She doesn't seem to run after that. She reminds me a lot of Celine Dion and Sade Adu. Same can be said about GaGa. We don't really know much about her. She said she was bullied, but we haven't seen much about her.

And really, I think the whole music vs. person thing is a tad bit foolish. If an artist writes their music about their personal occurrences and millions of people buy it, then they are letting those buyers into their lives or letting the people see what they want them to see. Everyone who had bought, bootlegged or streamed Adele's albums or songs know that she has been through a break up, which is why the music is connecting. So the public does know about her. I don't even understand that argument.

That's a very basic way of viewing it. Its not so much about bras and panties but the theme behind it. Its Lolita esque and borderline pedophilia.

There's one photo she's in her childlike bedroom with baby dolls and various stuffed animals wearing short shorts and a push up bra and a little sweater.



There's another where her hair is in pigtail braids, laying on a car in a cheerleader outfit with her top half off (revealing her bra underneath) while she lifts up her skirt, revealing her thighs. I only just recently noticed the bra sticking out from under her top because they're the same color.



Then there's one she's outside wearing mary janes and kiddie socks, a tight shirt and pleated mini skirt, posing in front of a gate with fans behind her (one of them an elderly man).



And who can forget the one where she's posing with a tricycle with her back turned, wearing booty shorts that says 'BABY' on it Make no mistake, it still very inappropriate and raunchy to this day, especially since she was really a teenager and not an adult. David LaChapelle even spoke about his/their intent for the photo shoot.
