That's the point. You're not supposed to notice her. She was a nobody. She wasn't a giant popstar at that time. She had a meteoric explosion and literally came out of nowhere. All of the sudden she was the center of the attention. I interpreted it as her rise to fame.
Again, easily her most honest music video to date. The cinematography reflected the emotions and experiences. It's why the shots were so beautiful. The imperfections make them perfect because they actually represent something.
