Kelly has said a million times she didn't want to be famous, she wanted to be a back up singer. She turned down 2 record deals before Idol. When she auditioned for Idol it was not even known and she had no idea it was even being recorded she just did it for the extra money to pay rent. So lets not bring up that made up sh!t.

Gaga has barely promoted MTN in the US, in fact, I'm pretty sure she's only done promo on Ellen. TOTGA is an easy, safe, radio friendly song therefore the audience impression is inevitably going to be higher, therefore reaching more potential buyers. Let's cut to the chase, we ALL know that if Gaga continued making music that sounded like they were recycled between PF/JD + LG she would be getting that AirPlay and them sales. Katy could NEVER reach the height of fame/cultural relevance that Gaga is at, NEVER.

you sure, you don't remember the Grammy Nomination Concert??? compared to katy, gaga promoted MTN so hard but look at the result, can't even push the single to top 20.

But gaga needed those to get famous. If gaga released mtn as her debut single you'd have someone else as your avi right now... How do you know Katy isn't going to do the same?
