What surprises me the most is that it was a Dutch magazine. Don't they smoke weed, allow gay marriage, practice euthanasia, use prostitutes, have hundreds of mosques? Yet they still write racist articles! That doesn't make any sense. I thought they were mega-liberal down there
Anyway...
M.I.A. is still the queen of going off on the internet, but Rihanna may be catching up. They even got her native country wrong. Jamaica...
That article is a mess. Someone may be getting fired
''After having worked for eight years with my heart and soul for Jackie, I realise that my mistakes, even though no harm meant, are my reason to leave,'' says Hoeke.
''Through the course of business, the publisher and I have concluded, that because my credibility is affected, it is better for all parties that I immediately leave my position as head-editor,'' Hoeke says in a reaction.
According to Gijrath there was nothing better but resign because the credibility of the title would suffer if she would have remained head-editor. ''I had to count to ten, before I took in undifferentiated views via other social media.''
"After eight years of unyielding commitment to Jackie, I realise that certain mistakes - though not ill-intentioned - force me to leave.
Through the course of events, the publisher and I have concluded that, in light of the damage to my credibility, it is better for all parties that I step down as editor-in-chief." said Hoeke in a statement.
According to Gijrath there was no action for Hoeke to take but resign, as the credibility of the publication would be at stake if she were to stay. Hoeke concluded: "I had to count to ten, before I expressed simplistic viewpoints via social media channels."
