The sales would have been even higher if she actually had a hit single, but this is nonetheless impressive for someone who is supposedly fading.
I guess it's her star power

I loved her look in that interview with Letterman. It was so funny when she ate the paper.

I don't think so, boo. I don't see Teenage Dream or even Talk That Talk selling that well.
Where are the people doubting 6m WW?

Both KIIS and Z100 just played MTN not long ago, so don't hit them with requests already.

Of course, it would have helped a lot. The actual increase is because of the holiday season and not because Marry the Night was released.
It's also true that her name helps album sales. It's not like she's fading, she's just losing the previous connection she had with the general public. That's why I say sales could have been better and stable from the beginning

This whole general public figure is almost mystical and nonexistent, considering it's the general public that would still be buying the album months later.

I'm calling 7 million. I have faith in the longevity of MTN and in Scheisse and HML becoming hits

There are several people with hit songs right now and the only person selling albums out of those several is basically Adele. Singles, while good for promoting CDs, don't really do much for most people.

Exactly.
Oh, but wait, the GP doesn't like her anymore.

Gaga haters are one of the worst out there. That Peter Bunanchan person or whatever that Xtina fan was called who was writing for Examiner is probably one of the best examples.
The bigger the star, the crazier the hate and the weaker their arguments

You never "waste your time" explaining anything you say, anyways.
You said a hit single would help her sell more and I said not necessarily. Is that simple enough to understand?

Yes, it would have helped a lot.
Of course, sales don't depend only on hits.

There are lots of albums released earlier and those aren't doing as well.
Obviously something is selling the album besides it being holiday season. I'm sure Marry The Night has something to do with those sales

^^
Most of its current sales seem to be physical sales, so that's pretty impressive.

If you are talking about Rihanna or Katy's sales, that's a different thing.
The public sees them more as single artists, they never focus so much on an album like Gaga but mostly on songs. Their WW sales are just great, nothing exeptional considering the amount of #1s.

Okay then, so if Gaga's not a singles artist, that means her singles have no effect on her albums, so your "a hit single would help" statement is a no go.
Maybe it's the iconic motorcycle cover that's selling the album.
