Just got home (I had to rush to work after the show) and Kelly was amazing!
She sang a medley of "Keep Me Hanging On" with Mary J & J Hudson. It started with all three of them posing like if they were Dreamgirls and there were dancers and arm movements involves and everything.
Then they each broke off into their biggest hits. Hudson sand "Spotlight" (which she also sang at the 2009 Divas show smh), Mary sang "Real Love" and Kelly sang SUBG.
All 3 had the crowd pumped, but when Kelly started the SUBG chorus the ENITRE venue was jumping up and down in unison
Later in the show, some 3 chicks sang a medley and it led into Kelly's duet with Sharon Jones aka @Ledisi. I honestly can't tell you who did better, both ladies slayed everyone in this performance. They sang "Chain of Fools" and it was just as epic as the Kelly/Fantasia duet from the Idol Christmas special so many years back.
Then Kelly came out to sing "Stronger" towards the end of the show. By this time, her ankle was giving her too many problems, so she performed barefoot and in jeans. She kinda had a hard time coming down the stairs, but it wasn't live so maybe they'll show some crowd shots during that part
She sounded great, as usual, and from where I was standing she didn't sound out of breath like the other WDKY performances we got. But she DID miss the big note. Instead she made it two separate belts.
Overall the show was fantastic and leagues above the 2009 show, plus so many more performances. Every singer was on point last night. Hudson and Florence also gave two of the best performance of the night with their own songs “Night Of Your Life” and "Shake It Up".
