No, but we were read parts of it at school.
And I have also read excerpts from it
Now I'm not religious, but I respect those that are.
HOWEVER, I cannot deal with ignorant, bigoted people that use their religion to justify their own ignorant opinions (on homosexuality, for example). Like they'll say that homosexuality is wrong because the bible says so, or abortion is wrong because the bible says so (it is actually very contradictory), but would they really kill someone for working on the sabbath ("anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death"); or abhor men with long hair (which is funny because Jesus is normally portrayed with long hair

)? Some christians simply pick and choose what parts of the Bible to adhere to, which is just wrong.
And someone mentioned that you can just update it to be more modern (on views on women, slavery etc.), but how does that work? You decide to just ignore some bits, forget that it doesn't exist in the bible? And who decides which parts are updated/ ignored?
The Bible seems to be very contradictory.
