I think that in it's own way that video was very important. The song has become one of her most iconic and to me it shows that even at her worst Britney delivers. The video is a damn mess and the hooker/stripper thing was horrific but I think under the circumstances the video could have been worse. Her body was banging, she looked happy, it did fit the song.

imo every one of her eras has had amazing videos bar Blackout, I don't hate GM or POM but I don't love them either.

The Gimme more video is terrible, i don't even think brit looks that good in it either, she just looks 'off'.

Piece of me is basic as well but i can't help but love it for some reason.

I feel like the next era needs to give us an iconic image because it's been awhile. I think the last iconic image Britney has established was from the ITZ era with the nude body suit in 'Toxic'

there were no iconic images this era nor were there any in circus or blackout (I think)

The stripper getup during Blackout era was iconic. Pictures from the video shoot made tabloids, the video premiere itself caused a lot of drama and critical response then as well. That look/VMAs outfit gets parodied alot. Might not be a good thing, but iconic nonetheless.

Circus definitely lacks a focus, though the video ITSELF is one of her best. I agree Femme Fatale holds no strong image.
