That interview had people who don't even speak English singing along to BTW. Don't tell me it hasn't had any damn cultural impact.

Michael Jackson was also had fans who knew his songs by heart but could not even speak the language Gaga is a cultural phenom!!!

If it was already sinking on pop radio, or if it wasn't even in the top 50 of other formats, I would agree.
You guys are just impatient.
Hell, the only song on POP right now that's been around on the chart as short as MTN are:
(which is 33 days)
19 \+1\ RIHANNA \You Da One\ 3799 \-30\ 213 \314 \21.660\ -0.191\ 31
25 \+2\ JAY Z & KANYE WEST\N***** In Paris\ 2659 \+186 \613\ +142 \16.039 \+1.349 \ 36
14\ =\ LADY GAGA\ Marry The Night\ 5009 \+103\ 537\ +4\ 27.861 \+0.668\ 33
So...what's the problem???
There isn't any. It's just not blowing out the doors like you guys want it to. Too bad.
Besides, when only 1 format is spinning your song (up until recently), you can expect lower updates. We now have HAC spinning it, and we can now see that even Rhythmic has been playing it a bit. If it continues to get support on those formats and gets more adds from those formats (today/tomorrow) we should be fine.
Plus, after Christmas, we can count on an AC add, and they should pick that up.
Marry the Night is not flopping.
One could say at MOST, at MOST, up to today, it's commercial and radio performance has been lack luster or wishy washy. However, we cannot call it a flop yet. Yet.
#oop. BorntoSlay, sis.

Frist of all, that was what I meant: THIS ERA IS NOT CREATED TO BE A COMMERCIAL SUCCESS. IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE MAINSTREAM ACCLAIMED. Have you really heard Born This Way in its entirety? The pop masterpiece Born This Way is wasn't made with the idea of collecting 9 Top 5 #1 singles. And any single that reach that high is a blessing from God.
All you commented here is utter ****. You know why? I was trying to justify why the likes of you are delusional. As you said, she created hits, but don't you think that if she wanted hits she would have created them for this era? And I'm saying hits, because it's your idea of what is a HIT. The album was made for the fans, so I see no problem with the fans being the only ones remembering them, aren't we more than 15 million worlwide? ROLLING STONE, READ WELL, ROLLING ****ING STONE confirmed Born This Way SOLD 8 million copies. And I brought the other girls here to prove what FLOPPING really means: having #1 after #1 and HAVING NO IMPACT BESIDES THAT. If you didn't knew, singles are like 0.00000001% of what an artist and the label really gains. The artist gains more TOURING and selling albums. That's why Katy Perry, Rihanna, Britney and the others ARE massive floppers.
Don't even answer, cause you're just too delusional to.

I'm sorry to disagree with you, but I think Born This Way was meant to be a HUGE commercial success.

Reading it again I think I was a bit of exalted writing that line though. Born This Way, the album, as any other album a label release, is meant to be a commercial success and it is a commercial success because it has sold 8 million copies so far. What I really meant though is that the songs weren't crafted to be your typical pop mainstream radio-friendly single therefore not good performers on Billboard, but due she has the best fans in the world, she's capable enough of having top #10 singles which is enough. All the promo this era was aimed towards the album so I see no problem. That's what really matters:
5 million copies of a SINGLE = somewhat of 5 million $
5 million copies of an ALBUM = somewhat of 50 million $
Who's winning?

Instead of perfecting pop songs so they would sell, she perfected pop songs the way her heart and personal taste told her to. Gaga is simply over the whole "let me please the general public" stuff. Her music from now on is not going to change much. It's best you realize that now.

I said "you act like if she wasn't a commercial artist", without the general public she will be lost, she needs to sell because she is commercial, damn you have to understand it, she needs the fans and the general public those are her two "crutches" to have LONGEVITY, you think Madonna made a 30 yrs old career without bringing radio friendly songs and commercial albums, she finded a balance between commercial and different, this what you said " she perfected pop songs the way her heart and personal taste told her to" proves that she made this album mostly for herself, and the fans of course, if the music now on won't change, i think is you the one who has to realize that she will fade away, don't get me wrong i want her to evolve and i want her to grow, i don't want her to go back to The Fame/Monster, i think Born This Way is an amazing album, but she needs to bring music that people can buy and listen to in the radio, that's how you build a career, that's the way you can last in the POP industry you need to see the big picture, she don't have 10 yrs in the business she only has 3 yrs, that's my concern i want the best for her, i want you to understand why i say what i say!

Gaga intended for Born This Way to be a HUGE success both in singles and album sales, but most importantly in cultural impact.
She was wrong.
But she sold a lot of copies

Excuse me, but Madonna flopped during Erotica and American Life and those 2 are ones her most critical acclaimed albums. And, how many years has Gaga compared to Madonna? barely 3 years in the industry. So why are you talking like she's got already 30 years of career?
