Earlier I came in here to post some juicy details I was just reading about, but I figured it would go to waste as the current conversation was about Ralph and how people don't like him. I mean

Of course I love the songs (and MTN's video), BTW is still my favorite album right now. But the era still looks like a mess in my eyes
I think the album is, commercially, messy. The singles were handled incorrectly, more specifically the single choices; while the singles that deserved to be singles suffered because of a terrible video (TEOG) or because it was released too late (MTN 5th single?!).

I just thought when you agreed with Honey Eyes who generally has nothing positive to say at all, it meant you didn't like anything about the era
I don't like the era AS A WHOLE. Of course there are some positive moments.

It was fine in the US, but it makes her look bad in the UK because it was destined to underperform, while MTN has to try and reboot the era single-handedly, meaning it suffers. Had MTN been released earlier, it could have done really well in the UK
