She still is, but not in the same level as in the TFM era.
She has a HUGE fanbase, who are indeed basically the only ones supporting her - it's safe to say that the general public is not here for her anymore, or at least not for BTW Gaga.
]Rihanna's not great with albums [/B]and Katy is a huge seller in the U.S. Lady Gaga's fame is international. Her songs might stop selling later on when her singles are rushed, but she's certainly not fading. She just needs a really good commercial single that will appeal to the U.S pop audience.
Then how did she outsell the album of the generation?
Britney stans will say No because of the S&M treaty
Rihanna stans will say No because they want rih to be in the trinity for ages
Perry stans will say No because they want Katy to be in the trinity too/her friendship with rihanna
Adele stans will say No because Adele is slaying
But beyonce stans, even if they are arrogant about their own fave know the true tea.
For those saying "no," let's look at her competition (Britney and Bey are out of the discussion since they shouldn't be bothered with comparisons to these new pop girls)
So then we have Rihanna, Katy Perry and Ke$ha as her main competition. (I won't include Adele because Leona Lewis was a huge force in America at one point, too). For starters, we can eliminate Ke$ha since she's been out of the public eye for a hot minute now. Katy Perry has the #1 singles to back up any argument, but her live performances aren't too kind to her. Rihanna has the singles (and I guess you can say critical acclaim with LOUD getting an AOTY nominee) but her album sales are still horrendous. Until she proves she's something more than Esther Dean's mouthpiece, she can't be labeled the biggest pop star.
