Sales (Domestic) Jay-Z: $31.3 million Eminem: $48.47 million
Edge: A big win for Eminem, and one of the best arguments in his favor right off the bat. Based on numbers and numbers alone, he is No. 1.
Awards Jay-Z: 10 Grammys; 6 VMAs Eminem: 11 Grammys; 11 VMAs; 1 Oscar (Best Original Song, “Lose Yourself”).
Edge: Nobody remembers the winners of VMAs seconds after they are announced, and they’re pretty much even with Grammys. That Oscar, though, gives him the go-ahead.
Jay-Z all the way. Eminem is overrated and I think it has alot to do with the fact that he's white.
people keep bringing that **** up but his rhymes + music still had to be hot for the general public to be feeling it and continuously support his music over the years.
If it was solely due to his race then Vanilla Ice would still be relevant after 'Ice ice baby'

It's obvious this title goes to Jay Z. The only thing Eminem has on jay z in terms of impact is sales. Jay Z has made a successful blueprint that most rappers copy/aspire to be. He is always in the top 5 of every rapper's list of top rappers along side big and pac. Jay Z is also a very successful buisness man that many rappers want to be. And how did Jay Z not make a huge impact when he said he was gonna stop wearing Jerseys and more business suits, all blacks followed. He is a living lgend who has one fo the baddest chicks in the game beyonce. Let's not be delusional sales don't just make up impact it's everything that comes with it, and Jay has influenced more heavyweights and did all of this not relying so much on a gimmick. I love Em more but Jay wins this one hands down.
The facts your dropping are pathetic there is way more to having a huge impact than sales. Janet Jackson sold only 100 million records while Madonna has sold over 300 million and guess what Janet is almost if not equally as influential as Madonna when it comes to pop music. It's okay I love em too, but he had a lot of gimmicks and being white contributed to his success. While Jay Z had to fight against the odds and become one of the biggest and most influential rappers of all time.
