The only criticism I have for Gaga about any of her songs are these:
1. she should really try to spice up her ballads, better yet do more than 1 on an album.
2. be watchful about dragging songs out superfluously (See The Queen, Dance in the Dark, and some others).

No. She's popular in other places too (the UK mostly).

Her last album, Aphrodite, and all of the singles, did better in the UK than they did in AUS.

I agree that she should capitalize the other markets, but I really do think she doesn't have to sacrifice the US to do it, that's all. She's so busy.

I honestly feel like she could come back with a new album that would slay. She has the ability to make the music people want, but she has to want to do that.

I can remember when i first heard MTN on Farmville and i was like "hmm this is nice i guess" and it's never been my favourite song. It feels like it's missing something to me but, the video makes me like it more.

I think no matter what Gaga released, it was going to be a "failure" in most people's eyes. She couldn't have really pleased anyone. I think she knew that; so, she made what she knew her core fan base would like. I think her next album will be a return to her old "commercial" appeal, but she won't be at the same heights she was during her debut. I'd hate to compare it to this...and someone please don't bash me for it.

It's probably like going from Rihanna's Rated R to LOUD, except Gaga will have writing credits.

Do you guys think the lyrics on some of the songs on BTW are bad? The lyrics of TFM were amazing, and while BTW has some good lyrics, there seems to be missing something. It took me a while, but I was looking at the lyrics of MTN and it's basically "marry the night" over and over again. Could that be a big problem? People want to like music as well as sing along

Yeah, um, I don't think it's Marry The Night... though that's the problem, except how she screams, "The Night," during the last minute. I think that turns people off a bit (it turned my mom off, and she said that was the reason it wasn't going to do well).

She compared it to Aguilera's belting, and she was like, "and you see where that got Christina.."

(As a prelude, my mom has a Genie lamp with Aguilera lyrics on it, so shove off).
