Alejandro made no impact other than half her fans ditching her for going all dark and weird. TEOG is one of her most successful singles on radio even w/ a ****** video. BTW is one of her highest sellers, so.
Except, I said nothing about her being a "supreme being". I said she controls her career, which she does. That is a fact that has been confirmed by many a Haus member.
RollingStone named TEOG one of her best songs to date and it's one of most critically acclaimed songs of all time. You're caught up with sales, sales, sales, and more sales. That is why your opinions on what is successful is skewed.

No, don't get me wrong. I LOVE ALEJANDRO and the video is in my top two, but you can't say it had a positive impact. I can't count the number of times I've seen someone say something like, "I liked her until 'Alejandro'." It upsets me.

MTN spin update please! Sorry, but I need to know if it's improving. Especially on Q102, who were the first to put it in PR.

It then had an impact (perhaps for the wrong reasons), but indeed did. It will be more remembered than Born This Way, Judas, TEOG, Yoü and I and as of now, MTN.
And let me add this:

no. BTW, TEOG and YAI will be remembered thanks to hype and campaign (BTW), the song and video (TEOG), and Jo.

It peaked @ #3 on the Hot 100 and spent 11 weeks in the Top 10. Telephone & Alejandro both spent 7 weeks in the Top 10. Born This Way spent 9 weeks in the Top 10.
It's her fourth biggest radio hit & it sold more than 2.2 m... I blame the video for the weak sales.

I'm from México and Alejandro was MASSIVE, I think after Poker Face and Bad Romance is her biggest hit here.

Being a hit =/= having impact.
Judas, Y&I, and TEOG will be forgotten, obv and had no impact, but I don't know about BTW. BTW is part of the reason she was just honored at The Trevor Project conference thing. But the thing about this era, it seems, is that she's focusing more on her overall image than the music itself. Maybe that's the problem.
I actually agree with you on a lot of things. I don't hide behind this wall and think everything is okay. I just try to stay positive most of the time 'cause I don't see the point in being negative or constantly reiterating how bad something is.

Like I said Alejandro is in my top two. Don't twist what I said sista.
But lemme ask you something: You don't think she controls her career? You think if Interscope controlled things, she would have been allowed to do everything she did this era?
And yeah, who's having a meltdown?

I might look too focused on sales and charts, but that is what let her explore into a different area in this album. Do you think Interscope would had let her release Born This Way (the whole package) if she hadn't been as successful in her past eras? Nicole has pointed it out MANY times. She needs to find balance. You can be sure her next album won't be as preachy, and definitely more commercial instead.

They even act like their mother: living halfway between fantasy and reality; even though some of them seem to be stuck in the fantasy side .
