I'm really curious.

Jimmy Iiovine and Gaga seem to have a lot of mutual respect based on previous interviews with both of them. I think Iiovine tends to be pretty hands off and let the artists do their thing as long as it produces results, and very few people have produced results like Gaga, even if some fans think she is "underperforming." It's delusional to think Interscope would do some sort of "hostile takeover" of one of their top artists who just got nominated for AOTY at the Grammies. Thats not to say that Interscope and Gaga might not agree to go a bit more commercial next time, but I doubt Interscope will "take control" back from their most creative artist. Remember Interscope has a 360 deal with Gaga... record sales are just one part of the financial equation for them, and her cultural impact alone is worth gold to Interscope just from a promotional standpoint and signing new artists. That last frame in the Video where Gaga has "interscope" written on her hand is enough to make new artists think that signing with Interscope is a good thing because they give the impression of being artist friendly.

because Gaga is still one of the top selling artists by far, and she just got a 3rd AOTY nom for the Grammies. Yeah, she sucks, Interscope should drop her. Who needs the girl who grabs more headllnes than any other on the planet on their roster anyway, and makes Interscope look like a great place to be for new artists?

I've been thinking about this and you seem to hit it right on the head. Album & single sales are just a fraction of the equation. Really, Gaga is still a lucrative artist so as long as that continues she will retain most of her creative control.

Good points, I agree with some of them.
No, I'm fine with her having creative control and Interscope would never do some sort of hostile takeover. The only point is that she's clearly not able to manage it in the right way and I'd like the label to do something to fix the situation. I don't know if they are really satisfied of this era's results but isn't their interest to keep their best artist always on top and successful?

I perfectly know she's still making a lot of money (mostly thanks to her previous eras and the big impact she had just a few years ago I would say...) but image and popularity are part of an artist.

Nobody has any idea how much of that "management" has been Gaga verses Interscope. These so called "errors" might be just as much Interscope as Gaga. We don't know whos got the last word on singles, and if I remember at one point Gaga said she was going to let Interscope pick them. And just because fans like to look back and say "well, if they had done things THIS way, it would have been a lot better" doesn't actually mean it's true. If Gaga would have gone out and produced a near direct copy of TFM, maybe the entire thing would have gotten the reception that Judas did as being too derivative of previous work.
