Before any of the Grammy noms are announced, we all need to remind ourselves that the Grammys have made many, many dubious decisions in the past, and will doubtless do so again. It's nice to win them, but their taste is usually pretty poor in my opinion, so I won't be too rattled if they don't recognise her much this year. It's like the Oscars. How often is the Best Picture winner actually the best? Not very often.

Pretty much! Even Madonna never won a Grammy for her music until 1999, despite having released so much brilliant music up to that point. The Grammy voters tend not to like the more outlandish, daring artistes.
