Most listeners are casual listeners, if you've just released an album a year ago without any sort of break in between, it's not hard to image that they would be confused. I mean I know people who 'like' Rihanna who weren't even aware that she had a new album out. That being said, this is the price that Rihanna/Def Jam pay by releasing albums so frequently and frankly I think they've accepted that as long as the album has longevity.
