She's been a trend setter since the GGGB era. Not only in music, but also in fashion and haircuts.

Yes she was a major trendsetter back in GGGB. But recently, she j jumped on the electro-dance bandwagon with We Found Love, instead of creating her own sound.

She does carrabean influenced mid tempo then bam we have IIY , right there and Got E luv u

Rock influenced ballad (ckb) then lady gaga releases you and I and will probably perform it tomorrow with jennifer nettles

She's the only one who has also kept her own style in fashion

Exactly. Her caribbean flavored pop is being followed by the flops. Keri and Ciara both died it on their last albums and FLOPPED.

But they're different. You can't just categorize all dance music as the same. That's like saying 'so and so did R&B' and now everyone one else is doing R&B even tho there are many different sounds to R&B. Dance is a genre and electro-pop is different from techno-pop. No other mainstream artist were having success with techno-pop at the time that WFL was released, not here in the U.S at least.

I agree. And this was brought up in the trend setter or follower thread but it didn't help her votes. There's no convincing Rihanna haters.
