Generally, Hot AC (well, Triple A, but that's irrelevant

) is the first format to pick Adele up, and Pop is the first to pick up Katy and Gaga. Other formats just follow much more quickly for people other than Gaga. She's pretty dangerous for radio right now. TEOG was a great radio hit, and helped her to recover after Judas, but Y&I sort of ruined the radio momentum of the era.
If she wants a big radio hit, she needs something safe. Katy's songs are safe, while Adele is just the current big thing, so they get played automatically as radio assume their songs are what people want to hear. Gaga is much more polarising. A song doesn't necessarily need more than just Top 40 radio to do well, but it certainly helps for more airplay points. Hot AC usually pick Gaga up, and I'm hoping Rhythmic will eventually see the magnificence of Marry The Night eventually too
