I always used to say Gaga should work with big hitmakers, but TTT is the ultimate hitmakers' album and (as a big fan of Rihanna's past music) I think it's such a major letdown. There's maybe 2 songs I respond to, and even those pale in comparison to her past hits.

I think Gaga makes the sound of her albums, not just the producers. RedOne was the main producer of JLo's album but it has different critical response from TF & TFM.
She was listed as the first producer on Born This Way, and honestly, it's her best produced album. The Fame Monster had better lyrics, though.

TTT is an aberration for me.
It screams the question, why isn't it doing better. Yes her weekly/cumulative sales are what's important, but her initial sales are always so dismal.

Yes, that's why RedOne didn't give her a On The Floor or a Down For Whatever song, because gaga actually is involved in the production.
