There's a difference between something sounding "dated" and just having influences from past decades. Admittedly, "I Forgive You", "You Can't Win" and "Let Me Down" would fall under the dated category because they could fit onto AIEW and Breakaway.
Songs like "You Love Me", "Alone" Gaga's "Marry The Night", "The Edge of Glory" and Beyonce's "Love On Top" are so obviously influenced by earlier decades with enough of a modern twist that they could actually work on radio.
"Honestly" just isn't single material, dated or not.
And you really are delusional if you think TWIO will be a hit. I love the song, but I haven't seen anyone outside of Kelly's fanbase rank it highly amongst the album tracks.
I'm not crazy about Alone or DBAGAI being released but, be assured that if they were, they'ddo better than TWIO.
