This is where Lady Gaga is lost to fans like you two. You're taking what she said in the video, literally, I'm taking what she said in the video figuratively, as it most likely is MEANT to be taken. For me, she's addressing the authenticity issue of the persona, Lady Gaga. Those lines about "lies" and "genuine" was her commenting on those type of accusations.

Stop. No, she is not saying anything figuratively that supports what you have just said. What she is saying is how she rather fabricate the experiences she had in the past to herself, than to believe exactly what occurred. In no part of this clip did she state that "Lady Gaga is a lie" or "This is not who i am". She is trying to say that memories are not always remembered the way the happened. One can believe something else happened (when it didn't) and that is what they remember.

Chances are that this is just a part of the PRELUDE, and the actual music video will be separate and likely around the length of the song (~5 minutes). So the actual video will be what is played on TV and have more views on youtube as the main video, while this prelude will be there for the backstory of the song and the inspiration, etc. Basically my point is that we haven't really seen any part of the actual video yet, so we can't judge at all.
