I was talking with Ryan about this still. An absolutely fascinating thought popped up into our heads: what if the secret from her past is an overdose that almost killed her, perhaps a suicide attempt? Understandably, this is something that she wouldn't want to tell us until the right moment. That would explain why her mom is in the video, to be there with her as she's rushed into the hospital. Think about the lyrics: "I'm gonna Marry The Night, I won't give up on my life." I can just imagine the epicness of such a video. Stefani getting carted away by nurses in slow motion as the church bells play in the background.
