This is not true. Artists, like Rihanna, get to decide the way they sequence the album depending on how they'd like to tell the story or what feels organic to them. In their minds, everything they recorded is a smash hit with potential.

I completely understand what you are saying.. However I think alot more goes into generating a tracklist than smash potential. Considering that RMO is much more of a crossover smash than YdO. Also Watch-n-Learn and Farewell will smash harder than cockiness simply because i doubt radio would touch that song with a 10 ft pole

I agree with you but I think with this album the process may be a little different. Typically, Rihanna albums are separated with the first half being uptempo songs (all potential singles) and then ballads but because this album only has 2 ballads on it, the 'front loading' of the album could be considered more then half of them album. Save for a couple, I don't think they know exactly what singles they'll release, but I do think they have an idea of potential singles (which could be 6-8 songs)
