That's not happening today, pop songs are totally dominating the charts. Urban songs don't enen have a chance these days.

Not necessarily. There are a buttload of songs 2005-2008 that went #1 in sales not Hot 100. "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "Switch", "Beverly Hills", "Don't Phunk With My Heart", "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'" (

), "Photograph" (Nickelback), "Hung Up", "When I'm Gone".
That's just from 2005 alone. 2006 it got better, and more in 2007 when they began weighing sales more into a song's chart position. And yes there was the Hot Digital Tracks chart that began tracking songs in 2003.
