No, it's not. There was too much time between OOTB and TD. One of the reasons why TD had a relatively low opening. If she releases in late May that is about 7 months of a gap. That's only a few months away from the TFM and BTW gap.

No, Katy didn't have as much momentum after OOTB, hence the low debut numbers. She's huge in the US now, so more people will be anticipating her new album. If she releases her album during the holiday season, she'll most likely open with big numbers.

But a lot of people open in November. I'm sure Rihanna will release another one around that time. That could prevent it going #1.

Bigger first sales won't look that great if it doesn't go #1.

It's virtually impossible for her next album to open below under 200k. If it sales more than that, but fails to go #1. That just shows it only sold well due to the timing it was released, not the quality of the album. Look at Rihanna's discography.
