payola is when artis or record labell pay to radio station or companies of radio station to spin their music.
example they pay 5,000 dollar and the radio station got to spin the song 2 time at hour.
this has been coming since the early 1950 all artist used but some artist dosent used that much like michael jackson, beyonce, madona, beatle etc.
now on the other hand: you got artist like tyler perry, robin, lmfao, go go and the wale use a lot this year and then almost every one use techno music and that why you hear only the same people on the radio.
