But I don't think you can directly imply that she's arrogant and she thinks she's good at everything just from the fact that she wants to do it herself.
In my opinion, and based on what she said about TEOG video, I think that after they tried the original concept, she felt there was something wrong with it - it was too over the top and elaborated, which is just what this song is NOT supposed to be in her opinion (and in mine too: it's just about pure bliss, about dancing alone in the middle of nothing, well...)
Of course the result turned out to be ****** - but I think it showcases the feeling that she gets through the song.
Bey and Gaga do enjoy each other but that 'Video Phone' set was a total ki. 
Just thinking about that and 'Telephone' really throws sand in my vagina.
