This comparison may seem laughable but her career can see similarities with Adele's before the release of 21. 19 wasn't a smash in the US either and Chasing Pavements peaked outside of the Top 20 just like Price Tag. It wasn't until her second album that Adele smashed in the U.S. Maybe to a lesser extent this is what could be the case with Jessie J. Anything's possible.

Yes, flopped. Just because she's a "new foreign artist" doesn't mean she is excluded from being called out on a flop. That album did absolutely nothing here. And what do you mean we expect too much of them? She's a pop artist trying to make a splash in the music world. Something has to be expected for all commercial artists.
And did I say that anything that is tailor made will be a hit? I mean, duh. "Domino" is an example of this, but her label pushing her to collaborate with the hot producer of the moment is evidence that they wanted a hit out of "Domino."
And of course your comparison is laughable.
19 sold over 850k and "Chasing Pavements" sold around 1 million copies prior to
21, so Adele saw success with her first LP and single. Not to mention, Adele's music wasn't tailor made for pop radio like Jessie J's. Jessie has had all sorts of important promo, yet she can't seem to make at least a little splash outside of "Price Tag" here in the U.S. No one said that she won't be able to make a splash in the future; I'm sure she could see some breakout success soon enough, but as 11/3/2011, not many people care about her. That's just the truth.
