The only reason why Circus had more copies sold the first week was because of it's release date. While Femme Fatale was released on an awful date with nothing special and did strong it's self. She got her Biggest Radio hit on a Third Single. While the Forth already out peaked Radar & Do Something. Plus, musically, Femme Fatale destroys Circus.

Britney doesn't do promotion because a) she probabaly doesn't want to, but more importantly because her people know that her "performances" are garbage and do much more harm than good.

Did we forget release week? All those performances were panned and torn apart, how does that do any good for an album? Oh that's right, it doesn't.

Britney appearing on a talk show and giving her one word answers for a 5 minute interview is not going to do anything for anyone. She'll just receive more hate from haters (and fans) for being dumb, not able to speak properly, etc.

I love how the 15 year olds on here think they know everything about the business. There's a reason for everything.

And radio clearly is not feeling "Criminal", they've supported the hell out of the first 3 singles, if they wanted to play Criminal they would have.

If her people 'know' her performances are garbage than they should do something about it.....

Criminal is a mid-tempo, the performances for it would be much different than the terrible promo performances. It is SIMPLE for her to promote it, there really is NO excuse. She doesn't even have to sing it live, the whole point of lip-syncing is to make people believe you are. She could pre-record her vocals and a performance and air it on x factor or an awards show like SEVERAL other artists have done and do. It's not like she'd have any trouble getting a performance slot, were talking about britney spears here.....

I agree with this, except a simple, boring performance of her lipping to a song while she sits or walks around isn't gonna do much for the single or album. The song might jump on iTunes for half a day before falling right back to where it was. What does that really do in the grand scheme of things? The performances have to be good/great to really make an impact. There's a reason why Rihanna's performances never do anything for her songs, but someone like Beyonce's do.

And maybe you just want to see Britney perform on TV, which is fine and understandable because I also wanna see Brit all over my TV but if the performances are bad or just completely boring and bland (like what you suggest for Criminal), then no thanks.
