Sneak Preview: Kelly Clarkson Gets Sassy On VH1 Unplugged
“Did I just do that [song] Erin Brockovich style?”
It’s just seconds after Kelly Clarkson has wrapped the first track of her five song VH1 Unplugged set when she peers down at her chest, wondering if one of her breasts managed to sneak its way out of her red bandage dress during her performance, just like what happened to the titular heroine of the film that won Julia Roberts an Academy Award back in 2000. Well, spoiler alert, it didn’t, but this near wardrobe malfunction gave Kelly the inspiration for some of the most playful between-song banter that we’ve heard in quite some time during the show’s taping in New York City earlier this afternoon.
VH1 Unplugged: Kelly Clarkson will be debuting exclusively on VH1.com at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday, November 17, which will be followed up the next with the show’s on-air premiere. We don’t want to give too much about the show away at this juncture, as we’d rather you be able to experience it fresh through your own eyes and ears. That said, we will say this — Kelly looked positively radiant throughout her set, thanks in no small part to her smoky eyes, make-you-melt-in-your-boots eyelashes, sun-kissed hair and, of course, that stunning red bandage dress. As for her songs, well, let’s put it this way: Her setlist was comprised of some songs from her new record, Stronger, some old faves and a surprising cover. And her voice? Sure, it sounds positively fantastic on her studio recordings, but we will attest that it’s another thing entirely to be in the same room as her when she drops the hammer and belts out one of her patented power choruses. We’re talking CHILLS, palpable chills, when she kicks her voice into fifth gear.
Find out for yourself when VH1 Unplugged: Kelly Clarkson premieres exactly three weeks from today on Thursday, November 17 at 7 p.m. ET.
From KricketNP from the KCE who was at the taping:
The show was short, but it was absolutely fantastic. She sounded absolutely incredible, looked great and was funny as hell. I don't know how much of the banter will actually make the cut, but she was hilarious in an awkward sort of way.
"I Know You Won't" was AMAZING...better than the troubador performance. Hard to believe I know!
After pretty much every song, she asked if it was okay. She did "Mr. Know It All" 2x because she flubbed the lyrics, "Dark Side" 2x because the VH1 people asked her to and "Stronger" might have been reshot as well.
She said she will be touring in the states from January to April and that they can't wait. She was concerned about her dress sliding and asked if she had "Erin Brockoviched" us, she said she couldn't sit on a stool because then she'd flash the audience. She went on a whole spiel about her dress sucking everything in and then went into talking about Spanx. She also said her shoes were cute but so uncomfortable and there was no way she'd be dressing like that on tour. I think she said, "Maybe for like one song so everyone can see that I'm a girl but that's it!"
Probably the best comment she made all night was " I know why God didn't give me big boobs. If he did, I'd be showing 'em off all the time."After the taping was over, we were told that she was taping a bunch of other interview, including one with VH1 and Access Hollywood.

And I can't tell whether mine will arrive today or not... I'm quite sure it will arrive the week after next. But... I've got a question: Which days count as business days? Is the day the copy gets shipped the first day?

dark side is a lock in for the third single! 99 percent sure, sales wise, and being number 3 on the track, being on the sticker i dont think they will not release this as the third single so i dont get the logic unless something happens.
1. MR KNOW IT ALL
2. WHAT DOESNT KILL YOU
3. DARK SIDE
4. LET ME DOWN
5. THE WAR IS OVER
6. YOU LOVE ME

I cant believe this Ive been playing this album non stop everytime I play it! 28 times to be exact for dark side, let me down and you love me. and with 11 times the lowest, for dont be a girl about it.
truly the best album for the year i hope this will continue next year and no other pop contenders will be releasing a powerhouse album like this one vocally too so a pop vocal album grammy award for kelly is a sure winner!
cant believe that kelly's all i ever wanted been snubbed with a pop vocal album and was given over to ahmmm never mind

#8 but it's been decreasing all night, and Flo Rida just entered the Top 10, so Top 10 exposure might notch him up a spot on Kelly.
