Listened to Circus today (it's been too long). Unusual You is such an amazing song. I seriously wish it was a single instead of Radar.

Not at all. The fact that the album is still selling 1 copy is impressive.

No, to release Criminal. I think radio is a bit sick of Britney - who would have thought she would have three 80 million AI hits in one year?

Agreed. They should've let "I Wanna Go" die or at least start dying first.
But then again, the stations started playing "Criminal" like 20 days before it went for adds.

Wasn't Larry her manager back in her promo-every-week days, though? I've always liked Larry, it's Mr. Leber who we all want to .

OMFGOODNESS. OMG Is Like Lindsay Lohan Like Okay Like and What If the Joke Is On You were my favorites. I remember it very clearly, and that Monroe-like shirtless picture with a blond bob wig and black gloves. Anyone has the picture?

I really doubt they are sick of Britney before they are, someone like, Katy, whose had five consecutive singles break the spin record, and all surpass 100-150m+ AI. With a sixth one killing "Criminal" in all aspects as we type.
Britney's singles get to their peak and die really fast. "Hold It Against Me" was played all in two weeks before it fell to Hell. "TTWE" & "IWG" deteriorated after they reached their peaks, "IWG" easily replacing "TTWE" on radio, same for "TTWE" replacing the nonexistence of "HIAM".
Britney's audience impressions don't even get as high as others on Pop (90-95m+), with "IWG" scratching a little above 82m. So we can't be reaching and try to use "radio is tired of Britney", really. It sounds inane.
We just gotta hope they pick up "Criminal" at some point.. :-/

Yeah, but he was young and ambitious then. He's an old fart now, using the same methods - to a lessor degree.
And yes, I love that shoot.

I see. Uptempos seem to explode quick though, which is scaring us with the current situation, I still have hope for Criminal to explode slowly.

I know I'm going to Hell for this, and it cuts me like a knife... but, if we add an S to these pronouns.... it fits..

That's because they get their support pretty much all from Pop. Pop plays what's hot at the moment, then quickly disposes of it to make room for hot new tracks. HAC and AC are slower to pick up songs and play them for longer periods of time because they're not all about what's current. So when Britney's songs start to drop on Pop, their AI don't get support from HAC/AC (who pick up songs around when they've peaking on Pop) and plummets. Releasing Criminal was probably a way to get those formats to be more open to Britney.

Do you think Criminal has a bright future in the HAC and AC formats? I doubt it.

Well I was speaking more about Pop radio, since "TTWE" & "I Wanna Go" didn't plummet really in overall audience thanks to Rhythmic and Hot AC backup. "I Wanna Go" is still barely falling on HAC right now, actually.
But even on Pop her songs don't have the longevity when she gets to a spin peak. I know usually Top 40 songs plummet after they hit their peaks, but not always. Some stay in the 12,000-14,000 range for a while. Britney gets to her peak and then is falling -200, -300 spins in a matter of days. So that's why I don't buy the idea radio is "tired" of her, because even her big hits this year didn't get as big as others.
