I LOVE the beat of Box, but her vocals sound pretty cracky on it. It's nice, but it needs some reworking. I would LOVE to see HQ version.

Does anyone have any ideas the meaning behind Pearl?

I'm guessing she had a friend that changed a lot in a bad way. I wan a music video for this!! I think it would be cool if it shows a cute adorable little girl at a young age, then as she grows up she gets into drugs, prostitution, drops out of school, ends up cutting, gets in an abusive relationship, and has suicidal thoughts. Then she starts getting help and changes her life. The music video should end right after she starts getting help. So it kinda leave

I know what you are talking about. To me it's like she is singing straight from her heart in that song. Moreso than any other song on the album imo.

The song deals with Katy singing about this guy who changed her, she was so in love she didn't realize he was ruling her world, but then she realized and started to rule her world, started seeing for herself instead of others and now she is what she is...a beautiful pearl.

I think it can be about you just having a war within yourself. You sometimes lose faith in yourself, whether it be because of people's words & actions or your own insecure thoughts. It's like she realizes her worth and has regained her faith in a sense, and kind of putting in lyrical perspective why she had these doubts or worries in the first place.

Also could be about just fame in general and not letting it get the best of you. Not letting her career take over her life and who she is as a person.

This is how I interpret it as well. I would say it might be another song about Travis, but CTD covers that.
