She could come into the story as Kristi & Katie's neighbor who is fearful after the murders from the second movie and Katie's disappearance with hunter. Her and her husband sneak into the house to try and find out things about the murders and find the house covered in demonic symbols. Katie and Hunter have been staying there and the coven is there sacrificing hunter. They get caught while spying on them so they get possessed and then their story begins.
