Yes. There is absolutely nothing on Billboard that says that only catchy party songs can go #1. You and I went #6 with a stupid video that made little impact and just ONE performance. TOTGA is much much more radio friendly than You and I is, AND TOTGA isn't that much of a radical change as You and I is.

If Katy plays her cards just right, it can go #1. I admit it'll be difficult, and it's a risk, but it still can happen.

but for a 6th single (ballad) coming from an album that sold 2M....i think its soooooo difficult to get that no. 1. even top 5 (on iTunes). lets not even talk about how a catchy song like LFN struggled on iTunes. #oops.

1st it's not a ballad. It's a med-tempo. 2nd album sales shouldn't really affect it. It didn't affect the other singles, it won't affect this one. Finally, I don't know how many times I have to say this LFN struggled because the music video was released at a bad time, and there was no promo. I have said time and time again that if it is in the same situation that LFN is in, there is like no chance of it going #1. It needs a good, no GREAT, music video at the right time and several performances.

I think it will do fine, in fact, I think it may do better than some of her previous singles. LFN was experience for Capitol, and it was mainly there fault. Even with all the mess ups, the song still managed two weeks at #1 and almost 3x Platinum now, it wasn't a complete flop, and I figure TOTGA may actually do better than LFN did.
