Definitely wrong for not getting its appeal—but hardly to blame. It so easily gets lost in the shuffle of the entire album. "Bad Kids" is by far one of the most sedated tracks, and it's hard for it to compete with the energy of pretty every other song (good or bad).

I can understand why people hate it; it's not an alltimer for anyone involved. But for the fact that it makes PERFECT sense in the sequence of 4 (Bey has to get through the teenage emotions of tracks 4-7 to get to the pure, adult love of tracks 8-10) and the fact that it's the closest the world will ever get to hearing how En Vogue circa 1996 would have sounded if they had moved to LaFace Records, it's a 9 for me.
