I bet that her label didn't want her to release Run The World (Girls) as a first single because it was too risky but she wanted it and because she's her own manager, she decides which single will be chosen. Sony didn't leak "Run the World." Ever wondered why the Diplo tracks leaked first? I think it was the producer. And I don't think they could of controlled the demo playing on radio really. And I think RTW was doomed from the start, however, I would of still kept it as the 1st single...

I don't think singing 1+1 at AI was a mistake. It was such a good move and so was performing LOT on the VMA's. People really weren't into RTW and everyone thought the album was going to be like that song so Beyoncé performed 1+1 to give everyone a better view on what the album was going to sound like. It was a wise decision. If she performed RTW maybe the song would've been a top 20, maybe top 10 hit but I'm glad she performed 1+1. LOT was perfectly done, she was pregnant and she sang LOT. I must say if she had sent the song to the radios before she performed it, it could've been a top 10 hit. But I'm happy she did it because it gave ''4'' the needed boost.

Rtw was an obvious label decision, I think everything after was how **** was really supposed to go and btinh and CD were supposed to lead the era

Run The World (Girls) could have been at least a top 10 hit if it didn't leak. Beyoncé had an amazing promo schedule, the song would premier and in that same week the music video would premier and she would perform the song at the BBA and Oprah the day before. It would've certainly done much better. The leak of the song ruined everything.

I'm 100% certain Beyoncé wanted Run The World (Girls) as a lead single. And it's an amazing single, I love the song it's one of my favorites but I think if Countdown or End Of Time would have leaked before the release date they had in mind, they both would have done much better. Everyone loves those songs. They were perfect lead singles.

That's a damn lie and you know that. The song was leaked and almost every Beyoncé stan heard the LQ. But it was NEVER leaked, people sent it to each other by e-mail. All of the sudden the demo got leaked, the fans had nothing to do with that. Radios started playing it and saying it was Beyoncé's first single when it was the wrong version. So as a stan, every Bey stan attacked Sony and Columbia to release the final version of the song otherwise everyone will think the demo is the final version.

I love Run the World, but the song would have still flopped if it didn't leak. The public DID NOT like it. There's a reason it free fell on iTunes until she performed in BBMA. You just can blame the general public for not appreciating its goodness.

l dont mind the decisions that much,l am upset at the timing of everything.1+1 is probably the best card we have for the grammys,so l agree it was a good decision to perform it at AI.On the other hand,lf she pushed RTW in the top 10,radios would have had her back for the very beginning.She is having a hard time to get their support.

Wrong! Radios were not here for it from the beginning. I think the problem was ultimately radio support. The leak had a part to play yes, but we have seen songs leak months before and still become big hits because it had radio support. (see: Sweet Dreams) 
She also paid radio dust this era, she should of given them some interviews like she did for her past eras.

Why have they played the "Lil john version " then ?
RTW is an urban song,a grower.SD is a pop-ish song with an universal sound a la End of time.Cant compare !
